Fear colored my first backpacking trip as I imagined sinister sources for every strange noise, envisioning dangers lurking in the shadows. When we discovered beavers making the noises, not killers, it taught me to challenge my fears, which often amplify the harmless into the terrifying. Our resolve and unity in facing tests now remind me of the lesson from that trip - to confront my fears rather than let them control me.
